Part of an interview and snippets of her singing. I taped over part of one of her songs and ran out of tape on the other. I'm uploading it anyway because I've never seen Susannah McCorkle on UA-cam

Such a great stylist!
You can hear distinctly where Anita Baker got her influence. ❤️💖👍🏾
Is there anything else Like NANCY?
Best Breeezin along with the Breeze since Josephine Baker.
What an elegant sophisticated person in sound and performance❤
This is what’s wrong with the youth of today, they weren’t introduced to REAL MUSIC, like this.
Wow Phyliss Hymen loved her
There is no way, anyone can redo this/
If she were currently alive, she would've Divine, at 99 ( ....going on 100, on March 27)
That night at the Grammys, so many stars witnessed the ultimate star
She was a living musical instrument with a wonderful and loving soul. So wise and so beautiful and so satisfying. She still lives in my heart. I can't think of her without smiling.
Trailblazer for Patti Labelled, Anita Baker, Phyllis Wyhman, etc... Her voice and style was phenomenal! May classy Madame Wilson live forever... She's SOLID within my heart 💜
The greatest love ballad of them all.
Can't stop watching. She was simply Divine
Rest in Paradise Betty
I love her whole outfit and those earrings are perfect. She dresses the way I would dress
She makes gray hair look fabulous
she was..and to my mind, is STILL "music royalty". Not just jazz...but she set a standard in popular music. There was a time, when you listen to AM stations and on the same station you'd hear Rosemary Clooney singing pop music, right after you heard Carmen and Della singing it. But music, as it often does, CHANGED...and many of the black artists (like, Carmen, Della, Lena and Ella) who were perfectly fine singing pop music in front of the better bands of the day, were MOVED away from pop music, and wound up being relegated to jazz.. because WHITE record execs were anxiety-ridden about their more marketable WHITE ACTS not being able to hold their own if they had to share space in pop music with black singers, who quite frankly, were better singers than Clooney, Peggy Lee, the Andrew Sisters, among other white artists. So, the reason why Carmen is one of the queens of popular music, without being known as a pop music icon, is because of how she simply refined her pop chops and became one of the better jazz vocalists on Planet Earth. She is a true trailblazer. There is no Anita Baker or Dionne Warwick or Sade or Patti LaBelle, had it NOT been for women like Carmen, Dinah, Nancy Wilson, Della, Sarah or Ella. Ms McRae is THAT important to music and its history in this country.
What a great beautiful beautiful black woman love all your beautiful beautiful beautiful music 🎶 rest in peace 🙏 love ❤️ you herman 😢❤
at 1:41..you can damn near feel HER SOUL leaving her body in that crescendo. Im sorry...there are a LOT of singers, male and female that I love to hear sing. And its easy to hear that they were born with the gift to interpret song, professionally. But whenever I hear the voice of a woman named Leontyne Price, i get very quiet...and I just listen. For me, she is the greatest professional vocalist in the history of recorded music, irrespective of the genre she makes a living in. I love Joan Sutherland and Montserrat Caballe' and Zinka Milanov...all of them, all time greats. And in other genres of music, the list of names of those I love to listen to, is too long. But on top of the heap for me, sits Leontyne Price...the greatest professional singer of music, the World has ever heard.
AMERICANS CAN'T PRONOUNCE - NEW - NOT NOOO!!!
Should it be pronounced nyoo
Nancy was a great singer may she rest in peace
Love this song,love Beautiful Nancy
I started listening to Nancy Wilson as a 9 year old impressionable girl. Her voice was the sweetest sound my ears ever heard. I admired her for years and one day I was finally blessed with the opportunity to meet her and become her friend. She was so down to earth and so humble. Her speaking voice was like hearing a symphony. I miss my friend so much, but listen to her exquisite angelic voice every day. I love you, Susie Q and I pray you rest comfortably until we meet again. ❤
Never has a 3 min clip hit me so hard!
First time I ever saw Billy Stritch. Since then have bought two of his albums, and of course, I kept seeing Michael! I think Jule s Styeinwas on that show.

Have loved her for decades. What a vocalist ❤
Sarah é simplesmente magnífica!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Sarah Vaughn was magic.....she is magical. And that voice is LITERALLY once in a lifetime. We wont get another one, remotely like her. Thank God, for UA-cam...because this is where we come to SEE her magic, if many of the posters dont have her albums.
My favorite cover of this.

Timeless and beautiful
She was the jazz female version of bill withers
I ❤️ it
Who's the guy interviewing her ? Anyone knows?
I bought this cd, and I love the songs; I wish I could get sheet music for all of them, but her vocal mannerisms just drive me crazy after two listenings. I don't know why they chose her, of all people, or was it her project?
Barry Manilow was looking for a singer and chose her. Personally, I don't think the songs are very good except for "When October Goes". The way Nancy sings the end of that particular song on the recording always gives me goosebumps. I never listen to the other songs on this album. I don't know of any other singer who's ever performed them
